Fastest: in the app
Open TravelPing → the Profile tab → "Delete account and data" and confirm. Your account and related data are deleted immediately, and all your links and QR codes stop working.
Without access to the app: by e‑mail
Write to [email protected] from the e‑mail address linked to your account. If you used the app as a guest, give your display name and the approximate date you last used it, or a link to one of your shares. We will delete your data within 30 days (usually sooner) and confirm this by e‑mail. We may ask you to confirm that the account belongs to you.
Only one share or group
- Share: open it in the app and choose "Delete". The link stops working, and the location history of that share is deleted.
- Group: "Leave group" removes your membership and your positions in that group. When the last member leaves, the whole group is deleted.
- You can remove your profile photo in the Profile tab.
What we delete together with your account
- your account: e‑mail, name, password (hash), profile photo or guest identifier,
- your shares, their links, time windows and the entire location history,
- groups you own, your memberships and your positions in groups,
- saved friends' shares,
- messages and questions sent to you by recipients,
- your moments (photos with text and position),
- push notification tokens of your devices.
What may remain
- Your messages in the chats of other people's shares remain with their participants. The sender is then marked as deleted, without your data.
- Database backups are overwritten on a rolling basis. Deleted data disappears from them after 30 days at the latest.
- Server logs (IP address, time of request) are rotated and overwritten, as a rule within 30 days.
- Data that we are required to keep by law or to defend against claims, e.g. correspondence concerning a complaint.
